Talking post
This post will have no new pics, as Mr. jak has digital camera in France. Yes, he's on a 'work' trip in Canne, France. I use the term 'work' lightly as he has been out having dinners and beverages till the wee hours of the morning, sleeping till noon, then walking around looking at pictures and TV's all day.
That's ok - because I have been in ... Oromocto! Ta Da!!
In all seriousness, I had a great time. Home for the weekend with my wingnut family (I say that with heartfelt love - I wouldn't want them any other way), and my wacko friends (that too a loving endearment). Good to get back to your roots and know your normal, or at least ok 'cause there ARE other people in the world as *insert descriptive here* as you are.
Invited one of my best friends - actually she's my Guardian Angel friend. She appeared at a time in my life when I really needed her, and well she's never left - and I'm glad. Anyhooo, I digress, I invited her as my date to my aunt's wedding.
We immediately assumed our duo-personality, and reverted to a time much simpler. A time filled with mistakes (eating before the bride a groom- sorry N&L), discovery (trying to climb a fence in high heels and a skirt), innocence (why does Tim Horton's throw out old food and not feed us? It was only 3:00 a.m.), and re-discovery (Subway's still open - Score!).
It was a love-filled wedding. My aunt looked absolutely beautiful in her sparkling gown and golden curls topped with a diamond tierra... sigh. Walking from the church, after the ceremony, a lady in front of us (not a family member) commented, "There are 20 other women in there that looked just like "N" (the bride)." She has obviously never been at one of our gatherings.
I would insert photo here, but - no camera :(
Spent Father's Day afternoon at my dad's. My brother was supposed to come with, but I think Mr. Labbatt got to his head. It was a nice afternoon. Dad dug up a couple of baby Silver Maples for me to bring home! I can't wait to get them in the ground. I better do that this weekend (rain or shine - my guess is rain).
Here's a pic of me a dad a month ago (he's gonna hate this - hee hee hee). Happy Father's Day daddy!
On another gardening note: My Lilac has bloomed!! 3 beautiful blooms! For 3 years old. No Camera - darnit!! Hopefully I'll get a shot before they fade. I know, I know, every other Lilac tree in the world has already bloomed. We seem to be behind with all the freakin' rain we've been getting.
No worries, still knitting. Working on a few projects. It's hard to finish one, when you're working on 5. I should really take that into consideration before starting another...
Happy Summer!
